This date is conjectural as the parish registers show no identifying information apart from a name and date for burial records. Four additional Thomas Mousels were buried in Wickwar in 1728, 1729, 1740 and 1768. However, given he was party to the guardianship of his son Richard's minor daughter, Betty, in 1759 and rescinded administration of the estate to another at the same period it is likely to be correct.

Bigland shows a tombstone at Wickwar for the Canter family. It appears correct apart from stating that William died on 5 June 1797 when parish registers show it occurring in 1793 with no Canter death in 1797.
