James' birth and baptism were recorded in the parish church register near the end of the page from October to December 1759. The places for dates remain vacant. Given he was born close to the end of the year and thus winter, it is possible he died unexpectedly in the few days between birth and baptism.

The record identified his father's occupation and employer.

Note

For some reason the record of birth and baptism of James Wallace was in the Inverkeithing parish register along with others from October to December plus one at the end in a different hand for twins born earlier in the year. However, the spaces for date of birth and baptism remain vacant. It is possible that given it was the end of the year, and winter time, that James died suddenly between birth and the arranged date of baptism.

Robert Wallaces occupation and employer were also recorded.
