There is nothing but a baptismal index to tie Robert to this but date is consistent with age at death and a daughter was given same name as his mother. Date of birth was remembered 8 years afterwards at baptismal time which is consistent with him having at least literate parents. He had money and property to dispense in a will.

After paying debts and funerary expenses and before providing support for wife and children large amounts of money were bequeathed to people named Dyer. The writing is hard to read but it looks like 300 pounds were bequeathed to William Dyer and 400 hundred pounds to ? Robara Dyer.

Robert's second wife was Sarah Dyer, a widow, who died in 1802, a year after marriage. It is conjectured that the Dyers who received Robert Lancashire's bequests were descended from, or connected closely with the previous marriage and perhaps entitled to money from their mother's dower. Insufficient records have been found to account for the payment.
