Fact: In 1858 several people visited houses and reported back to a British House of Commons committee on destitution in Gweedore on the condition of the people and properties seen in Gweedore and Cloughaneely. It was reported that Fanny Boyle (widow) had a bad house, appeared very poor and had no cattle. Another person visiting on the same day noted the number of people in each property. Fanny was one of 4 people at her place. — June 17, 1858
