Birth	Cecilia's birth registration on 28 September 1868 notes her DOB as 19 Sep 1868. The reason for the discrepancy between birth and parish records is unknown especially as the registration was within the time allowed for registration without financial penalty. Perhaps it was simply due to lack of literacy and concern with such matters.
Death	Cecilia is reported to have died in the area around February 1953. However, she does not appear in registrations of death nor is there a tombstone. It is known that records were not entirely accurate and I have noted a number of mistakes in her children's records. However, there was a newspaper report of her death in 1955. Jan 2026 A death certificate now found showing that Sheila died at the County House, a place for babies, unmarried mothers, infirm and elderly in Stranorlar in 1955 in accordance with the newspaper report.
