Difficult to know if this is the burial record for this Mary as the register provides no identifying information but it is not unreasonable to think that a newborn died soon after birth.

No date but March 1718 provided in registry book. He was the last burial entry for 1718/19. He was baptised on 15th March and parish register commenced a new year in April 1719.

Unlike many others, Richard's name was unaccompanied by a X in the register. The x indicated death by smallpox.

The burial record is likely to have been applied to the correct person as her widower remarried in 1762.

This date is conjectural as the parish registers show no identifying information apart from a name and date for burial records. Four additional Thomas Mousels were buried in Wickwar in 1728, 1729, 1740 and 1768. However, given he was party to the guardianship of his son Richard's minor daughter, Betty, in 1759 and rescinded administration of the estate to another at the same period it is likely to be correct.
